Types of Clutch Friction Materials

1. Asbestos-Free Organic Material (AOM)

As a synthetic fiber material, AOM typically consists of aramid fibers, polyester fibers, or other high-performance fibers. It features a high friction coefficient, excellent heat resistance, and chemical resistance. Notably, it eliminates the generation of asbestos fibers, making it more environmentally friendly and safer for human health.

2. Metal-Enhanced Organic Material (MOM)

MOM is formulated by incorporating metal powders or particles into organic materials to enhance strength and wear resistance. This material can operate at higher temperatures, boasting superior thermal stability and shear resistance.

3. Ceramic Material

Ceramic materials exhibit exceptional heat resistance, wear resistance, and friction performance, ensuring stable operation under extreme high-temperature conditions. However, they come with a relatively high cost and greater brittleness.
