Non-asbestos Truck Brake Lining

Definition

Asbestos-free truck drum brake linings, designed for commercial vehicles such as heavy-duty trucks and semi-trailers, realize deceleration and parking through friction and serve as a critical component for braking safety.

Background of Replacement

Asbestos has been prohibited in most countries due to its carcinogenic risk. Asbestos-free materials (including NAO, semi-metallic, and ceramic materials) have gradually become the industry standard, balancing health, environmental protection, and braking performance.

Key Performance Indicators

Coefficient of Friction (μ): 0.35–0.55 (common for FF grade). It shall remain stable under high-temperature conditions (300–400°C) as well as dry and wet working conditions to avoid thermal fade or weak braking in cold states.

Wear Rate: It features low lining wear and low brake drum damage. High-quality products can achieve a service life of 50,000–80,000 kilometers, reducing the frequency of replacement.

Heat Resistance: It can withstand continuous braking temperatures of 400–600°C without decomposition, carbonization, or bonding failure.

Mechanical Strength: It has shear resistance, tensile strength, and rivet loosening resistance, ensuring no detachment or cracking under heavy load and high-frequency braking.

NVH Performance: It delivers low noise, low vibration, and no squealing, improving driving comfort.
