Brake Drum Daily Maintenance
Daily Maintenance Points
Regularly check the bearing's temperature, noise, and vibration. The normal operating temperature should be ≤70℃, with no abnormal noise.Regularly replenish/replace grease/lubricating oil. Grease lubrication should be replaced every 3–6 months in general; oil lubrication should be replenished in a timely manner according to the oil level.Check whether the seals are intact to prevent dust and moisture from entering the bearing interior (seal failure is one of the main causes of bearing damage).Avoid excessive impact loads and eccentric loads on the bearing to prevent plastic deformation of the rolling elements and raceways.Use special tools (e.g., pullers) when disassembling the bearing; avoid striking the inner/outer rings to prevent bearing deformation.
4. Common Faults and Causes (for foreign trade after-sales communication)
Fatigue Pitting: Pitting and dents appear on the raceways/rolling elements. Causes: Long-term alternating loads, poor lubrication, and low installation accuracy.Wear: Surface wear on the raceways/rolling elements. Causes: Dust ingress, insufficient lubrication, and insufficient material hardness.Scuffing: Adhesive welding and blackening on the bearing surface. Causes: Dry friction, high speed and high temperature, and lubrication failure.Deformation: Deformation of the inner/outer rings. Causes: Excessive impact loads, excessive interference fit during installation, and excessively high temperature.
