Understanding of Friction Coefficient of Brake Pads (2)

Due to friction, the friction pads will gradually wear out. Generally speaking, the lower the cost of the brake pads, the faster the wear. After the friction material is used up, the brake pads should be replaced in time, otherwise the steel plate will be in direct contact with the brake disc, and eventually the braking effect will be lost and the brake disc will be damaged.

Friction coefficient of brake pads:

EE grade: 0.35-0.40 is suitable for European and American cars, the brake pads are relatively large, and the friction coefficient is relatively low.

FF grade: 0.40-0.45 international standard friction coefficient.

GG level: 0.45-0.55 is suitable for European models, especially German cars. Because there is no speed limit in Germany, the coefficient of friction is higher.

HH grade: 0.55-0.65 Special brake pads for racing cars. Under high temperature conditions, the friction coefficient is allowed to change. Generally, when the temperature is 100 degrees, the friction coefficient is plus or minus 0.08, and when it is 350 degrees, plus or minus 0.14.

It is suitable for the Chinese market and is FF grade. The above are high standard requirements for friction materials, and it is difficult to fully implement them. Therefore, different requirements are put forward for different models and different conditions of use. In order to meet the needs of different users, brake pad products are also gradually becoming diversified.
