brake fluid
Brake fluid is a synthetic brake fluid made of alcohol ether as the base fluid and adding additives such as anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion and anti-rust.
Commonly used are DOT3, DOT4, DOT5
Brake fluid should have the following characteristics:
1. High boiling point. The high boiling point is the main feature. If the temperature of the brake fluid exceeds the boiling point, bubbles will be generated, resulting in brake failure.
2. Viscosity changes little with temperature. The brake should work normally at a temperature of -40~100°C, so it is required that the viscosity of the brake fluid changes little with the temperature at high temperature and low temperature. If the viscosity is too low, the sealing performance of the brake will deteriorate and cause brake fluid leakage; if the viscosity is too high, the brake will be unresponsive.
3. Good lubrication performance. Since the brake has to work for a long time, if the lubrication performance is not good, the wear of the brake will be accelerated.
4. Stable chemical properties. There should be no chemical reaction between the brake fluid and various media in contact.
5. Low hygroscopicity. Due to the low vaporization temperature of water, if the brake fluid has high hygroscopicity and mixed with a certain amount of water, bubbles will be generated when the water vaporizes, which will affect the braking performance.
