First, the working principle of the brake caliper:

As the "brake sub-pump" inside the brake system, the brake caliper mainly receives the hydraulic pressure transmitted by the brake master cylinder through the brake oil pipe, and then applies the hydraulic pressure to the piston inside the caliper. The piston then pushes the brake pad to brake. The piece is combined with the brake disc, and the vehicle is decelerated by generating friction between each other, and the kinetic energy of the vehicle is converted into frictional heat energy and is lost in the atmosphere.

Second, the importance of brake calipers:

Since the brakes are often used during the running of the vehicle, the calipers are often subjected to the hydraulic pressure transmitted by the brake master cylinder and the reaction force of the brake pads to the calipers. At the same time, the high temperature generated by the brake pads friction heat is repeatedly affected. Calipers, while ordinary calipers are generally cast aluminum alloy materials, although the high temperature and pressure during braking will not cause the calipers to be destroyed, but due to the presence of metal fatigue strength, there will be some deformation. The deformed caliper will cause a decrease in braking performance and a series of situations such as brake imbalance. So, if you want the caliper to be more durable, then change the high-performance modified calipers.
