Brake pads in automotive brake systems
The brake pads are also called brake pads. In the brake system of the car, the brake pads are the most critical safety parts. All the brake effects are decisive for the brake pads, so the good brake pads are the protector of people and cars.
The brake pad is generally composed of a steel plate, a bonded heat insulating layer and a friction block, wherein the heat insulating layer is composed of a material that does not transfer heat, and is intended to be insulated. The friction block is composed of a friction material and an adhesive, and is squeezed on the brake disc or the brake drum to generate friction when braking, thereby achieving the purpose of decelerating the brake of the vehicle. Due to the friction, the friction blocks are gradually worn out, and generally the lower the cost, the faster the brake pads wear. After the friction material is used, the brake pads should be replaced in time, otherwise the steel plate and the brake disc will be in direct contact, eventually losing the braking effect and damaging the brake disc.
The types of automotive brake pads are: brake pads for disc brakes, brake shoes for drum brakes, and blades for large trucks.
