The importance of friction materials in brake pads
1. Friction material
The friction material is undoubtedly the core part of the entire brake pad, and the formula of the friction material directly affects the braking performance and braking comfort of the friction pad (there is no noise and vibration). At present, friction materials are mainly divided into three categories according to the formula: semi-metallic materials, NAO materials (non-asbestos organic materials) and ceramic materials.
2. Insulation layer
During the braking process of the vehicle, due to the high-speed friction between the brake pad and the brake disc, a large amount of heat is generated instantly, if the heat is directly transferred to the metal backplane of the brake pad, it will cause the brake pump to overheat, which may cause the brake fluid to produce air resistance in serious cases. Therefore, there is a insulation layer between the friction material and the metal back plate. After the brake pads are ablated by high temperature and high pressure, the running-in cycle of the new brake pads and the original brake disc will be shortened, and the brake high temperature can be effectively isolated, so as to maintain a stable brake safety distance and brake comfort.
3, a hot press molding
The brake pad adopts a molding hot pressing technology to ensure the stability of the hardness, density and other indicators of the product. Higher safety factor, always protect the safety of the owner.
4. Back plate
The role of the backplane is to support the overall structure of the friction material, and transfer the braking force of the brake pump, so that the friction material of the brake pad and the brake disc are effectively engaged. The backplane of the brake pad has the following characteristics:
a. Meet stringent durability specifications;
b. Ensure the safe operation of friction materials and brake calipers;
c. With a high quality environmental protection coating;
d. Environmental protection, rust prevention, durable use.
