The coefficient of friction of the friction plate is not constant
The most needed feature of the friction plate itself is wear resistance, which is the meaning of its existence and the basis of all the functions it should have. Therefore, the most basic, direct and effective way to check the quality of a friction plate is to look at it. The wear resistance of the bearing, in professional terms, depends on its coefficient of friction.
But the coefficient of friction is not a fixed and uniform value, it will be affected and changed with changes in temperature, pressure and other factors. For example, if the machine suddenly accelerates during operation, the temperature of the friction plate will increase rapidly at this time, and its friction coefficient will decrease at this time. Therefore, the coefficient of friction is inversely proportional to the temperature. As a good friction plate, this inverse ratio should be as small as possible, otherwise it may have a process of sudden drop after the "thermal recession" (friction coefficient rises sharply due to temperature rise , may reduce friction) under the influence of braking. However, most of the current friction materials are added with additives to realize their own high-temperature regulation function, and generally there is no need to worry about "heat recession".
In addition, when there is water on the surface of the friction plate and waiting for liquid, it will also affect its friction coefficient, but this situation will be restored after the water dries up. But it is also necessary to pay attention to prevent the friction coefficient from dropping too much and affecting braking.
