Many people think that switching to a higher grade spark plug can improve power. Unfortunately, spark plug ignition alone won't boost power. Because engine power is determined by how much air is sucked in and how much fuel is ejected, not by the ignition system, there is no qualitative change in power as long as the air and fuel levels remain the same.
At this point, some people may say, I did change the spark plug after the power has become stronger. But don't forget that the spark plug you replace is old, and its ignition efficiency is certainly not as strong as the new spark plug, so it is understandable to feel the improvement in power.
The spark plug replacement cycle is actually a very metaphysical thing, between the manufacturers even if the use of the same material spark plug, the replacement time is not the same. But without exception, the spark plug replacement period indicated by all manufacturers is lower than the spark plug manufacturer's recommended replacement time.
To see if the frequent replacement of spark plugs is a hoax, we need to start with the engine's ignition system. We all know that four-stroke engines are currently on the market, and during power stroke, the ignition coil supplies power to the spark plug once, igniting the mixture of oil and gas. However, some manufacturers, in order to improve the efficiency of the engine when burning, to make more full combustion, they will make the spark plug in the power stroke of the spark plug ignition, for example, Mercedes M274 will be fired five times in a single power, which is why the Mercedes spark plug needs to be replaced every 20,000 kilometers.
In addition to the different ignition procedures, car manufacturers generally require consumers to replace the spark plug in advance of the reason, mainly for disclaimer. Even NGK spark plugs made in Japan vary in quality from batch to batch, so if there is a small fluctuation in iridium purity this time, the mileage will be affected as well. As a result, most of the current manufacturers, even if they use a high-grade spark plug such as iridium platinum, do not replace it more than 60, 000 kilometers.
But for those who are insured, especially those who are maintaining outside, the cycle of replacing spark plugs naturally does not need to be operated in accordance with the official time of the 4S shop. As long as in daily use, ensure that about 30,000 kilometers check the spark plug gap, and then replace it within the kilometers claimed by the spark plug manufacturer, basically there will be no problem.
