How to identify fake and shoddy brake pads?
1. Packaging
Although the appearance of counterfeit brake pads is similar to genuine ones, it is difficult to cover every aspect of the details. The printed font of the packaging box of counterfeit brake pads may be vague, unclear, and relatively simple. There is no product information such as the manufacturer’s name and production address on the box surface, and there is no certificate of conformity inside the box.
2. Appearance of brake pads
High-quality genuine brake pads are bright in color, the friction layer is neat and smooth, and the grooves are regular and the paint will not peel off. The material of the friction surface of inferior brake pads is uneven, the workmanship is relatively poor, the grooves are opened very randomly, and the color of the brake pads may have redness and oxidation.
3. Look at engagement
The production of regular brake pads is strictly controlled, and the joints of each part are guaranteed to be firm; if the new brake pads are found to have loose rivets, degumming, etc., it is likely to be a counterfeit and inferior product.
4. Look at the craft
Regular brake pads adopt advanced processing equipment and production technology, which are precise and meticulous; inferior products sometimes have a good appearance, but due to poor manufacturing technology, they are prone to cracks, sand holes, slag inclusions, burrs or bruises.
