Factors for choosing brake pads

The disc brake pad and the brake disc rub against each other to form a frictional couple, which generates braking torque and converts the kinetic energy of the car into heat energy. The weight of the vehicle is transferred to the axles during braking, inevitably subject to high braking forces and are therefore susceptible to extreme heat, mechanical and chemical stress. In this regard, we must meet three requirements when selecting brake pads: safety, comfort and service life. The criteria for selecting brake pads mainly include the following factors:

1. Brake noise - In order to prevent noise, usually the brake friction plate will use vibration-absorbing devices, including vibration-absorbing plates and anti-vibration glue

2. Friction coefficient - good brake pads must have a high enough friction coefficient and be stable under various driving conditions

3. Friction material - good brake friction lining does not contain asbestos, not only that, friction material should also try to avoid expensive and uncertain performance fibers and sulfides.

4. Shear strength - ensures that it will not fall off or crack even under extreme conditions
