Common Problems and Fault Manifestations of Clutch Plates

1. Wear and Aging
Causes: Frequent half-clutch operation, sudden acceleration / braking, and poor driving habits (such as keeping the foot on the pedal for a long time).
Manifestations:
Clutch slippage: Engine RPM increases but vehicle speed does not, more pronounced when climbing hills or under heavy load.
Abnormal clutch noise: A "squeaking" sound during disengagement or engagement, possibly due to exposed rivets from worn friction linings.
Difficult shifting: Incomplete power disconnection, resulting in gear clashing sounds when shifting.
2. Burnout (High Temperature Damage)
Causes: Prolonged half-clutch operation (e.g., during traffic jams), poor heat dissipation of the clutch plates, causing heat generated by friction to not dissipate in time.
Manifestations:
Smell of burnt odor (high-temperature carbonization of the friction linings).
Loose clutch pedal, with a significant decrease in power transmission efficiency.
3. Failure of Damping Springs
Causes: Long-term high-load use or aging leading to spring breakage or weakened elasticity.
Manifestations: Obvious jolts when starting or shifting, with engine vibrations directly transmitted to the interior of the vehicle.
