Ceramic brake pads have the following advantages over other types of brake pads:

(1) The biggest difference between ceramic brake pads and traditional brake pads is that there is no metal. In the traditional brake pads, metal is the material that mainly generates friction. The braking force is large, but the wear is large, and noise is easy to appear. After the ceramic brake pads are installed, there is no abnormal clamor (ie, scratching sound) during normal driving. Because ceramic brake pads do not contain metal components, the metal squeal of traditional metal brake pads and mating parts (ie, brake pads and brake discs) is avoided.

(2) Stable friction coefficient. Coefficient of friction is the most important property of any friction material

Application example of ceramic brake

The index is related to the braking ability of the brake pads. During braking, heat is generated due to friction, and the operating temperature increases. The friction material of general brake pads is affected by temperature, and the friction coefficient starts to decrease. In practical applications, the friction force is reduced, which reduces the braking effect. The friction material of ordinary brake pads is immature, and the friction coefficient is too high, resulting in unsafe factors such as out-of-control direction during burning, burning discs, scratching of brake discs, etc. Even when the temperature of the brake disc reaches 650 degrees, the friction coefficient of the ceramic brake pad is still about 0.45-0.55, which can ensure that the vehicle has good braking performance.

(3) Ceramics have good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, and good abrasion resistance. The long-term use temperature is 1000 degrees. This characteristic makes ceramics suitable for high-performance requirements of various high-performance brake materials, and can meet the technical requirements of high-speed, safe, high wear-resistant brake pads.

(4) It has good mechanical strength and physical properties. Able to withstand large pressure and shear forces. Before the friction material products are assembled and used, drilling, assembly and other mechanical processing are required to make the brake pad assembly. Therefore, it is required that the friction material has sufficient mechanical strength to ensure that no breakage or chipping occurs during processing or use.
