Brake Pad Replacement Interval and Judgment Criteria
1.Regular Replacement Interval
Passenger cars: 50,000–80,000 km, light load for daily commuting
SUVs / heavy vehicles: 40,000–60,000 km, higher braking pressure due to vehicle weight
High-performance models: 30,000–50,000 km, frequent heavy braking
Taxis / commercial vehicles: 20,000–40,000 km, high-intensity usage

2.Mandatory Replacement Judgment Criteria
Thickness indicator: New brake pads are about 14 mm; replacement is required when worn below 7 mm (including the 3 mm steel backing plate).
Warning signals: Continuous metal scraping noise (metal-to-metal contact) or warning light on the dashboard.
Abnormal performance: Soft brake pedal, longer pedal travel, increased braking distance, vehicle vibration during braking.
Service life: Even with low mileage, inspection and replacement are recommended after 3 years (friction material is prone to aging).
Inspection RecommendationsCheck brake pad thickness and wear every 5,000–7,500 km during routine maintenance.
