Agricultural Machinery Steel Plates: Core Wear-Resistant Components for Farm Machinery
Agricultural machinery steel plates refer to various sheet-shaped steel parts fitted on agricultural equipment. They are widely used in farming, sowing, harvesting, agricultural processing and other agricultural production processes. Featuring high strength, excellent wear resistance and impact resistance, they are essential basic components ensuring efficient and stable operation of farm machinery.

I. Main Types & Application Scenarios
| Type | Typical Application | Core Functions |
|---|---|---|
| Plow Disc / Harrow Disc | Plows, disc harrows, notched harrows | Soil breaking, land tillage, ground leveling |
| Blade Series | Harvesters, rotary tillers, straw cutters | Crop cutting, straw crushing, soil pulverizing |
| Gasket / Pressure Plate | Cutter assemblies, mechanical joints | Gap adjustment, component fixing, wear protection |
| Structural Steel Plate | Farm machine frames, cover parts, guard plates | Structural support, internal component protection |
| Spring Steel Plate | Farm machinery suspension systems, tensioning devices | Elastic support, shock and vibration absorption |
II. Common Materials & Properties
65Mn Spring SteelThe most widely used material, with carbon content of 0.62%-0.70% and manganese content of 0.90%-1.20%. Its hardness reaches HRC 38-44 after heat treatment. It boasts outstanding elasticity and wear resistance, ideal for manufacturing plow discs, harrow discs and cutting blades.
Boron SteelHigh-end grade steel with trace boron element (0.0005%-0.005%) added, which greatly improves hardenability and wear resistance. Its service life is 30%-50% longer than ordinary steel, mainly applied to high-standard farm machinery in Europe, Brazil and other regions.
High-carbon Tool SteelSuch as T8 and T10, with carbon content of 0.8%-1.0% and hardness up to HRC 50-60, suitable for movable blades of harvesters.
Low-alloy High-strength SteelIncluding Q345 and ASTM A572, characterized by high tensile strength and good toughness, used for structural steel plates and load-bearing parts.
Stainless SteelSuch as 304 and 316, with superior corrosion resistance and rust-proof performance, applicable to steel plates used in humid environments and food processing agricultural machinery.
III. Key Specification Parameters
Dimension Specifications
Plow disc & harrow disc: Diameter 300-960mm, thickness 3-12mm; common sizes: 460mm, 560mm, 660mm in diameter
Blades: Length ranges from tens to hundreds of millimeters; e.g., corn harvester blade is about 330mm long with 210mm hole spacing
Performance Indicators
Hardness: Generally HRC 38-66, varying by practical usage
Tensile Strength: ≥800MPa (for 65Mn steel)
Wear Resistance: Enhanced via quenching, tempering and other thermal treatment processes
IV. Core Manufacturing Processes
Raw Material Cutting: Steel plates processed by laser cutting, plasma cutting or shearing machines
Forming Processing: Shaped into required forms through stamping, rolling, bending and other procedures
Heat Treatment: Core working procedure, including quenching for hardness improvement and tempering for internal stress relief; carburizing and boronizing surface treatments are adopted for high-end products
Surface Treatment: Spray painting, galvanization or plastic spraying for anti-rust and anti-corrosion purposes
Quality Inspection: Hardness test, dimensional precision detection and visual appearance inspection
